The American Hanoverian Society Teams Up With GumBits
Lexington, KY (May 15, 2025) - The American Hanoverian Society (AHS) has joined forces with GumBits to bring their tasty "chewy sugar" training treat to its members across the United States. The Society operates as an an affiliate of the German Hannoveraner Verband with a mission to promote and support breeders, riders, owners, enthusiasts, and fans of the Hanoverian, Rhineland, and American Hanoverian Riding Pony breeds in the U.S. Based in the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky, the AHS hosted a party during last month's Land Rover Kentucky 3-Day Event (LRK3DE), where GumBits provided samples to invitees to try on their horses.
Designed as a way to help horses relax their jaws and increase suppleness in the hand to bit connection, GumBits are described as a training treat that operates as both a reward and way to encourage a happier, more relaxed mouth in horses of all disciplines, ages, and breeds. As they celebrate their 20th anniversary in 2025, GumBits is thrilled to be sponsoring multiple events across the U.S. and Europe, including the American Hanoverian Society.
"I had a hunter mare that really loved to jump but wasn't thrilled with the flat classes," said an AHS member during the LRK3DE. "We decided to try GumBits because she was really focusing on all of the horses around her and not on me both in the warm-up and in the hack. The chewiness of the GumBits kept her focused on the bit, naturally causing her to release the tension in her jaw. I highly recommend them."
